Fertility Fairness upcoming Parliamentary Event

The Fertility Fairness campaign is organising a Parliamentary Reception “Fertility Services: The Picture Doesn’t Have to Look Like This”, kindly sponsored by Ian Austin MP. This will take place at 2pm on March 25th in the Attlee Suite.

Across England it has long been the case that fertility services are not being commissioned in line with evidence on clinical and cost effectiveness. In October 2014 NICE said unequivocally said that the “NHS should stop rationing fertility treatment”.

This event will feature a short look-back on the approach to date of CCGs across England since the transition from PCTs, and will examine the progress that has been made in the last year towards commissioning the NICE recommended level of fertility treatment.

This will be followed by ‘best practice’ presentations from both commissioners and consultants, who will outline how providing the 3 full cycles of IVF recommended by NICE can, and sometimes does, happen. In addition to the speakers there will be a variety of experts within the room who will be able to offer specific advice and information.

Fertility Fairness encourages patients to write to their MP to ask them to attend this event. A downloadable PDF to send to your MP of the event invitation can be found below.
